The Stock Market Is Rising. Breadth Is Still Terrible.
A slight retreat in bond yields gave the stock market some breathing room, but traders are still holding their breath.
The S&P 500 was up 0.2%, moving in and out of positive territory in a sideways day of trading on Thursday. The Dow was up 110 points, or 0.3%. The Nasdaq Composite was up 0.6%.
The Nasdaq was benefiting from a Big Tech rebound, with Palantir Technologies, Tesla, and Alphabet giving the index a boost.
