Healthcare administration general intelligence (HAGI) startup VoiceCare AI has raised $4.54m in a seed funding round to advance its generative AI (genAI) technology for automating back-office conversations.

The round was led by Caduceus Capital Partners and saw contributions from Bread and Butter Ventures, Mayo Clinic, and a revenue cycle management (RCM) company.

The funding will support VoiceCare AI’s efforts to scale operations, improve platform intelligence, expedite the development of products, and expand the efforts of its engineering and go-to-market teams.

Caduceus Capital Partners managing partner Scott Kolesar said: “Healthcare continues to face a widening gap between rising demand and limited capacity—and administrative burden remains one of the biggest drivers of that strain.”

Following its emergence from stealth earlier this year, VoiceCare AI has deployed its voice AI agent, Joy, to automate complex voice-based workflows in payer communication processes such as prior authorisations, verification of benefits and management of claims.

The VoiceCare AI platform is designed with privacy and security measures and is Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)-compliant and SOC 2 Type II attested.

It addresses common challenges in AI-driven healthcare workflows, such as data omissions, hallucinations and misrouted communications.

VoiceCare AI founder and CEO Parag Jhaveri said: “VoiceCare AI's goal is to tackle one of the largest and most overlooked pain points in healthcare.

“With this funding, we are doubling down on our mission to reduce the burden of administrative conversations and tasks so care teams can prioritise high-value patient care.”

In February this year, VoiceCare AI announced its plans to automate healthcare back-office operations using advanced genAI technology to improve patient engagement.

"VoiceCare AI secures funding to advance generative AI technology" was originally created and published by Hospital Management, a GlobalData owned brand.
