Anthropic, backed by Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN), has launched its most advanced AI models to date: Claude Opus 4 and Claude Sonnet 4. Touted as the new gold standard in AI, these models can autonomously complete full workdays, write human-level content, analyze massive datasets, and perform complex tasks across research, coding, and content creation.
Claude Opus 4, labeled the “best coding model in the world,” delivers nearly seven hours of autonomous agent work, combining tool use and reasoning. It adapts, learns from files, and builds knowledge over time. The models also offer real-time web search capabilities to complete user tasks seamlessly.
Anthropic’s pivot from chatbot development to intelligent agent performance marks a critical shift. Chief Science Officer Jared Kaplan emphasized the intense development process and the models’ leap in agentic behavior and software engineering capabilities.
Chief Product Officer Mike Krieger says Claude now outperforms his own writing. Anthropic’s annualized revenue has soared to $2 billion, doubling from the previous quarter. High-value enterprise clients spending over $100,000 have surged eightfold.
Fueled by a fresh $2.5 billion credit line, Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN)- backed Anthropic is accelerating its position in the AI arms race, setting a new benchmark in artificial intelligence.
