S&P 500 Opens Higher. It's Closing in on Its High.
The stock market was quiet to start the day on Wednesday as markets awaited the second day of Congressional testimony from Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 52 points, or 0.1%. The S&P 500 was up 0.2%. The Nasdaq Composite was up 0.5%.
The S&P 500 is now only 0.6% off its Feb. 19 record close of 6144.15. The Nasdaq 100 closed at record on Tuesday.
