S&P 500 and Nasdaq Hover Near Records
The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were briefly on track for their first record closes in months on Thursday.
The market benchmark rose 0.8% to cross its closing high of 6144.15 before hovering a touch below that level. Entering the session, its highest point during a trading day was 6147.43 on Feb. 19.
The Nasdaq Composite was up 1%, also briefly crossing ints Dec. 16 record close of 20,173.89.
